In 2012, Kai Kloepfer lived 35 miles from the Aurora film theater shooting that killed 12 people. The inspired the 19-year-old to investigate shootings, and he found that incidental shootings, suicides, and the abuse of guns really kill more than mass shootings. So he set out to build up an innovation gun that could help keep weapon related tragedies from happening. What he thought of was a firearm that only enacts when in contact with the correct unique fingerprint.
